Game Design & Art:

Professional Portfolio

Work produced at Nucleolus

In April 2020 I started working for a University of Southampton, spin out company called Nucleolus. Originally I was hired to be a 3D Artist on their flagship project Avian. At the time I was completely self-taught in regard to 3D modelling, texturing and asset creation, but over the course of the project I worked closely with other designers and artists in order to acquire new skills and talents. When the project wrapped up, the company acquired grants, and clientele through the university which paved the way to multiple other projects. During my time at Nucleolus I have held varying roles, completing essential work wherever it was needed. I have worked as; an Artist, creating Style Guidelines and producing 2D sprites, 3D models and Textures to accompany them, a Game Designer working on Gameplay Mechanics, Flow and Level Design, an Animator producing both 3D and 2D animations and rigs, and finally more recently as a UI / UX artist on the Amblios Club, where I strived hard to make an easily used and simple app to host its suit of games and tools.

The Amblios Club

I also created concept art for character’s. Please click the button below to see where my career started.

What Came After?…

This in house project aimed to explore environmentalism and the impact of deforestation through the lens of a supernatural protagonist. This was a short two person project that has currently been put on pause and has gone through multiple stages of iterations. Whilst working on this project, I was tasked with creating a set of stylised assets for the environment. Please click the button below to know more.

Dons Through the Age

The Astera Project

Work produced for the University of Southampton

Working for Nucleolus allowed the company and myself to have a connection with the University of Southampton. As a spin out company, we are known by many departments and teaching fellows, of which many have requested to collaborate with them on projects. I have also been personally requested to work on a few projects independently of Nucleolus. Below are the three main projects I have worked on through the university. Each project has required me to work on different tasks, ranging from; designing a board game and its art work for Plausible Futures, creating and rigging characters for Dons Through the Ages, and more recently creating 3D assets and textures for Astera.

05 / 23 - 11 / 23

“When life gives you lemons” was a project hosted by the psychology and geography department of the University of Southampton, which aimed to generate a dialect between young adults regarding their futures. My role on this project was to design a board game that fit their requirements, host play testing events, and produce art work ready to be used. For more information click the button below.

02 / 21 - 05 / 21

This proof-of-concept prototype is a blend of Machine Learning and smart adaptive gameplay mixed with AR technology in order to allow players to recreate historically based penalty shoot outs with famous Wimbledon FC goalkeepers. During this project I produced 3D assets of famous Wimbledon FC goalkeepers and rigged and animated them. For more information click the button below.

Astera is an ongoing project within the University of Southampton. Initially starting as a cosmological visual tool, Astera has been gamified to allow players to explore and control galaxies. I have worked on this project as a consultant and I have also updating their pre-existing 3D assets and textures to a higher polished quality. For more information click the button below.
